Let's discuss the druid set!

What are the specific pros and cons to using the Aldurs set? What is it good for if anything? What do you wish it had (or didn't have, or had changed)?|||Same old song...

There are mostly only cons. For a caster it doesn't have any FCR and not really a lot of +skills, for a melee build the weapon doesn't do enough damage for Fury/Maul and is reasonably slow for Fire Claw. It will generally work better to use a collection of cheap uniques, RWs and set items than using Aldurs.

The sockets provide a nice opportunity for a Fire Druid, but the effect of filling those up with facets is not worth the cost.|||as mentioned, it's probably the weakest specific set out there. you'll come across A LOT OF CONS. but i'll focus on the positives, according to my opinion..

personal experience with the set is my fire huntermentalist, with all sockets filled with fire facets. buriza on switch, magefist, ravenfrost, soj, arach's and highlord's wrath to complete the build. build is basically a fire druid (fissure + 2 synergies), maxed how and rest in grizzly.

what i like about the set;

bonuses to stats. very minor but saving points here and there is always welcome.

display aura. makes the set build more tolerable to look at despite it's crappiness =P

150ar partial set bonus. this is what i like best about the set. personally i don't like the hassle of using demon limb, so this is a godsent (i play sp so no faith etc). boost my cth for my bolts in addition to heart of wolverine. i even use the armor and boots combo on my frost/tesla zealot. unfortunately, if you go full elemental, this mod is wasted.

imo the only problem seems to be the base item for the weapon. if only it's an elite (with some ed), that 350% off weapon ed would make more people think twice about abandoning the set..|||Having the weapon be an exceptional is a major bummer. However, the completed set offers +350% damage, which makes using the set more tolerable, especially if you 3xshael the weapon. I have taken a druid using the complete set through hell solo, using a Fury/FC build with DW. It's doable, although certainly not fast. The other good thing about the set is it only takes up four item slots, leaving your belt, gloves, and all three jewelry slots free for customization. Also, unlike a lot of druids, you'll be using a shield (that's really the only benefit of the weapon - it only takes up one hand).|||i love the boots and use them frequently, though not necessarily on druids.
