Ubers Feral Rage/Fury Druid

A full sadvanced build with the numbers to back it. Can also PvP/PvM outside of Ubers very well.

This build is not intended for your average player as some of the gear is particularly rare. Should be for the somewhat wealthy only, as things like Perfect Beasts, Dual Leech Rings, and high Steelrend's are not cheap. The listed gear is perfect, obviously you don't have to use perfect, unless it conflicts with my Str/Dex and Resist All calculations.

I do calculations for perfect items only, as that is what most people shoot for in the end. If you can't afford it, pump more points into Strength/Dex to compensate for things like lack of 20/20 torch/anni, Perfect Beast, etc. At bare minmum you should get x/20 anni and torch, so that resist capping against Miphisto's Conviction can be done.

The idea is to use Feral Rage when first entering Ubers to sustain life. Once your merc procs Life Tap you can go to town with Fury. Keep Feral Rage up, Fury in between. Very high damage output build, can do Ubers very quickly. Extremely survivable.

Skill placement

This is a lvl 99 build. 91 if you don't inclue Grizzly or Vines.

20 Werewolf

20 Lycanthropy

20 Feral Rage

20 Fury

20 Heart of the Wolverine

5 Prerequisites

1 Raven

1 Cyclone Armor

1 Poison Creeper

1 Carrion Vine

1 Summon Grizzy

Total = 110 (level 99) As mentioned above, 91 if you scratch vines/grizzly. 97 with just grizzly. I recommend getting your attack skills maxed first, then go Grizzly -> Cyclone Armor -> Vines

The damage absorbed from Cyclone Armor will be very low, but it's a good one point dump.

HotW over HotO b/c both will probably die in Ubers, and HotW is more useful outside of Ubers because you will never need that much health. Not to mention the health drop is dangerous when the Oak dies.

Hope everyone enjoys. Was fun creating this beast. Let me know how it works out for you.

This is an original guide by me, so if you're going to post it give credit where credit is due! Don't be stealin mah bucket.|||Not my favorite weapon choice. It is slow (especially for Fury) and has low damage.

The rest is already covered here.

I would also advice to write your guides with more care, for example:

Quote:

Sanctuary Luna: (Or any elite shield you can get your hands on, this one has highest block %): 20% FHR, 20 Dex, 70 Res All, 20% FBR

A Luna is not the highest block elite shield (it's the lowest in fact), and you can't make Sanctuary in it because it can only have 2 sockets.|||Quote:

Fixed. Swapped Ward for Luna. And it actually does have the highest block % for a Druid, tied with Aegis and Ward at 44%. Ward/Aegis are the only two with the capable sockets.

http://classic.battle.net/diablo2exp.../shields.shtml 44% Highest for a Druid

Also, people keep referring to weapons as "slow" without checking breakpoints. With a high level Werewolf you are almost guarenteed to go over cap. 40% from Beast, 29% Fanaticism and 76% from Werewolf is way over cap, making your "slow" weapon complaint irrelevant. In fact Beast hits the 6 Frames IAS breakpoint by itself (0 Base Zerker, -40% IAS from Beast). IAS Calculator listed below.

Base weapon wise, Zerker is (0) Base for Druids. 40% from Beast gives you 10 Fpa as oppose to 9 Fpa from something like... BotD. Beast is one of the faster weapons. Caduceus and Scourge are both (-10) Base speed, but have low reach (Caduceus) and poor damage (Scourge). Zerker has a range adder 2.

http://diablo3.ingame.de/tips/calcs/...p?lang=english

This build uses a shield for a reason, and is not just good in Ubers. You kill the Ubers bosses with Crushing Blow in general, not just Ribcracker. Doesn't offer much more than slightly higher Crushing Blow and questionably higher damage. It does not provide Fanaticism, which is 186% Damage, IAS, AR and Merc IAS. Not to mention this build is 100x safer than a Ribcracker build, it will still perform on the same level, if not better. Doesn't rely on a Lifetap Wand, has much better gear overall. I'd actually ventured to say it does more damage than his build, as it is very basic gear wise.

Thank you for correcting my shield issue, as for the other comments, I suggest you do your homework before critiquing someone's guide.|||Quote:

It says there Luna has 40% for Druids. Perhaps you are confused with Hyperion?

I did those calculations a long time before you posted this thread, so I didn't have to do them again.

A Beast Zerker does a 10 frame Feral Rage and a 10/6 Fury at best, and yes that is slow.

I'm not sure what calculations you made that show that a weapon with an average base damage of 175 at 10 fpa is going to outdamage a weapon with an average base damage of 410 at 8 fpa, and that is on the cheap. We can also go for 593 at 9 fpa with the eth Zodded option. You decide.|||Yup, Arreat Summit puts their titles under their pictures. Hyperion was the original shield, not Luna.

You could swap Beast/Sanctuary for Ribcracker but that puts you in the hole with Miphisto's Conviction Resist wise.

The person requesting the guide wanted to use 1H/Shield|||Quote:

A full sadvanced build with the numbers to back it

That is all fine and dandy... but is there any experience there? When it comes to guides, experience is more important than numbers, numbers get important when you've got the basic gist of the guide down and when you're trying to get what's optimal...

The weapon need to be changed, stephan has already said that much... but...Maras? Why? God Why? Metalgrid, please. And do ACTUAL calculations for damage... Steelrends... why not Draculs for the Lifetap - it's way more convenient and probably faster than with Steelrends.

Throw in a few 15@GC's.

Even IF you get all these items, you coulds till do better in ubers by switching a few pieces of gear around.

And to calculations of damage rather than counting the % as that is... quiet irrelevant...|||Fanact doesn't up Fury Speed with that high of a WW level...

I'm not seeing why this is so different from BJam's build that you need a separate guide for it.

10/6 Fury in Ubers? Feral is far and away superior for them due to minion spamming.

Why Steelrend? The ED is meh and Blood gloves give OW and life.

Iono. Just seems like you're making a less effective, more expensive Ribcracker Druid imo >.>.|||Quote:

Mara's over Metalgrid due to having lvl41 Werewolf and 9 Shapeshifting gcs. Metalgrid was considered but after reviewing the setup seems like overkill when it comes to PvM.

Drac's and it's 5% life tap chance is not worth giving up 10% Crushing blow on a build that's not over 100% CB. Life tap is nice but not a game breaker for a Druid who already has a Merc providing it plus Feral Rage. This piece could be chalked up to opinion rather than being the clear winner.

Once again, this guide was originally written for someone wanting to use a shield, and in terms of 1H'ers go, Beast is not far behind Grief, which is the top 1H'er. 717 for Beast's average, counting it's bonuses, 777 for Grief (According to BvB comparisons). Fury (the runeword) is up there, and a viable alternative, but EBotD and others fall behind all of these.

This build is far less a pain in the *** than a Ribcracker Druid, who needs to bring a Life Tap Wand, Treachery Pre-Buff, etc. It's also much more expensive, but that was prefaced at the beginning of the guide. Not restricted to just Ubers either.

Not sure about you guys, but I prefer to walk into Ubers, cast BO and go kill the bosses. Having a separate buff armor, life tap wand to repair/recharge constantly is annoying.|||Quote:

No, no and no.

A Grief PB does a lot more damage than a Beast Zerker, and is faster. The same for a eBotDZ. Fury is in the same league as a Beast, but that's not very good as I said before.

I'm not sure how you even dare to call out people on not having done their homework when it seems you have done none yourself.|||Quote:

Read it again, says Grief is the clear winner for 1H Damage. Seriously.
