Dissecting Wind Druid Stats

Ok, so some baselines :

-1 Vit = 2 life

-1 Str or Dex on gear = 2 life based on that

-+life is BO-able, +Vit from gear is not

-163 FCR is prefered (for purposes of this exercise and the main gear switch)

So math class, here's the challenge. What's the absolute optimum gearing with this FCR for both life and damage, with a block option and a FHR option. I've seen pure vita builds packing 8.4k life, and would love to hit close to that with approximately 7k Tornado damage and max block, or same stats with 163/152 or 163/174 (tricky, this one, as maxing both usually frags damage). I'm wanting to say even getting 6.5k+ Tornado with Suicide Branch and a godly jewel would work, as that alone will add a good chunk of life. Any input/experience making an all-out Wind Druid along these lines? I'm usually packing the fur, so this is a little out of my area of expertise, but I didn't wanna make another boring paladin for MFing my wolf gear, so might as well make him capable of doing more than MF runs too |||i ran numbers a long while back in this thread.

the only thing i have to add is to remember that you have different fhr breaks while using a 1 handed swung weapon (spirit sword, hoto, suicide branch) vs everything else (wizzy). this might help at the typically 99fhr break which will instead be 86 and maybe a bit easier to make.

edit: nvm, i see you're going for pvm. not many bother with much fhr in pvm while in pvp it'll ruin your day to not hit the right break point.|||Quote:

It will eventually also be for PvP, but leveling him to 95 is a LOT of MFing :P Thanks for the info though

EDIT : Ok, using a 10% CTB Safety amulet and an Eld in the Stormshield, I can lower the required Dex investment from gear to 185. This means other than that, with 20/20 torch and anni at level 95 I only need 30 Str from gear to wear everything. That 30 will most likely be filled in different ways from swap to swap, so as to retain maximum numbers across the board, and remember, the initial goal was to get these numbers/capabilities without sacrificing life (which sacrificing +life on gear usually ends up with lower life than going all vit). Once I have a final formula, I'll post it up. Also, this is without using a Bug Belt in the calculations

And here they are :

Helm - 2/20 FCR/20 Dex/Life w/ 2x7 FHR/9 Dex

Bod - Enigma (duh)

Belt - Caster Belt, 30 Str/24 FHR/10 FCR/Life

Boot - 25 Dex Dancers

Glove - Bloodfist

Amulet - Safety Amulet, 2 Druid/10 FCR/10% CtB/20 Dex/Life

Ring 1 - 10 FCR/15 Dex/Life

Ring 2 - 20 Dex Raven

Weapon - Suicide Branch w/ 7 FHR/9 Dex/20 Life

Shield - Stormshield w/ Eld

This setup gets a total of 187 Dex, 2 over what is needed, so you have a minute amount of room to play with. Also, as all gear assumes room for +life mod, no life is actually lost, and you can still gear for 100% Vita. The only thing missing from this is 7% DR from full, and if you can pony up another 15 Dex from somewhere without losing anything, that can be had by replacing the Eld with a Ber in the Stormshield. For sake of simplicity I stated only the pertinent mods on items, and if it's strictly an anti-melee setup, you won't care about Res anyhow.

I believe this setup also gains the same +skills as Summerfun's, as I make up for the lack of +1 on the belt with a Suicide sub. Also note, this build is also able to retain all vita charms, as its 99/99 BP's come entirely from the gearing as well (100/106 in fact).

Next up, doing the same thing for the max damage and anti-caster setups!
