So I was reading a discussion the other day about the 1.11 runewords and someone brought up an interesting use for the druid runeword Rain. Now, there are certainly better runewords out there, but this one is obtainable without trading for duped runes (mal is fairly obtainable), and the player still gets +2 all skills. The main reason this armor stands out though is the +5% chance to cast level 15 twister on hit.
Doesn't sound impressive you say? Well, on its own, I would agree. However, if you build around this idea it gets a bit nasty.
This guide is dedicated to the underestimated ability of chance to cast on attack or striking. There are a couple variations of this proc guide, and some of you may have seen the original thread which underwent a horde of changes. I decided to make a new thread compiling the original build as well as a few alternate routes.
Why should I make a proc druid?
There are a couple of reasons for this
Reason #1: They are very effective in hell. All of these builds will be able to solo hell once finished.
Reason #2: They are sexy. While all your buddies cry themselves to sleep because their hammerdin is exactly like everyone else's hammerdin, you are a part of an incredibly rare breed of a procaurus.
Reason #3: They're cheap! For the original procaurus I built, I was able to get 90% of the items I needed from pgem trades.

Basically the theme is to take advantage of all the chance to cast on hit, which everyone typically ignores. Twister is the main theme as it stuns the enemy when cast. With this gear, you will have the following chances to cast on hit.
5% Chance To Cast Level 15 Twister On Striking (From your body armor Rain)
8% Chance To Cast Level 13 Twister On Striking (From Carrion Ring on your left finger)
33% Chance To Cast Level 22 Twister On Striking (From Windhammer
25% Chance To Cast level 10 Firestorm* On Striking (From your Hellfire Torch, if you can get it)
Together without Hellfire Torch, your chance for at LEAST one item to proc is ~42%
With Hellfire Torch, your chance for at least one proc is ~57%
Twisters spawning from your armor Rain will do 44-46 physical damage each and stun for 0.4 seconds.
Twisters spawning from your Carrion Ring will do 37-39 physical damage and stun for .04 seconds
Twisters spawning off your main proc Windhammer will do 78-83 physical damage and stun for .04 seconds.
Your total Crushing Blow will be 65%
Your total Open Wounds will be 10%
Your total Deadly Strike will be 15%
Since with your setup, you will be attacking 3.57 times per second, you are going to be having these chance to cast on hit going off constantly. This build also has a good amount of crushing blow, and some open wounds, which will trigger as well.
That is just the icing on the cake. As with any decent fireclaws build, you will be doing well over 9k per hit, effectively over 32k per second before you factor in resistances and chance to miss, CB, Open Wounds, and Procs.
Now here are some known problems.
1) Firestorm is known to intentionally cause the game to crash when two people have it go off at the same time. I have no idea how this will work with two firestorms going off from the same person. Perhaps a more enlightened form patron than I would be so kind to explain this.
2) Fire and physical dual immunes will give you trouble, but these are incredibly rare.
3) No engima, and bears cannot teleport

The Hungry Hungry Kodaproc
To those not familiar with SSoGs Kodiak Bear guide, I strong suggest you read his guide here http://wiki.theamazonbasin.com/index..._Mighty_Kodiak
In this variation of the Kodiak build, you will be using your wealth of excess skill points to benefit your proc damage.
Strengths: Much stronger Proc attacks than the standard procaurus, faster attack than fireclaws, more gear freedom, more skill point freedom, recovers life and mana at insane speeds, can use wind attacks (outside of bear form) or summons, Ubertank potential, still a sexy badass bear proccer =)
Weaknesses: Only deals physical damage, very little room for MF gear, relies on charms for resistances

Explanation of Build
Your procs will be a central piece of your damage. Ultimately you can go several ways with this build and I've outlined some suggestions.
It is a little known fact that any sort of proc skill you "cast" receives bonuses from the skills synergies. With this setup, your biggest proc will be dishing out several 400 damage twisters, and your attack speed will be quick enough at the 6 FPS breakpoint to consistently have the twisters cast.
Of all the builds, this is EASILY the most survivable. If you go the defensive route, you will be near unkillable thanks to your huge life bonus and defensive bonus. You can also tweak the build to use summons to help tank difficult areas, or switch into a wind ele druid should you choose to do so.
With this gear, you will have the following chances to cast on hit.
5% Chance To Cast Level 15 Twister On Striking (From your body armor Rain)
5% Chance To Cast Level 2 Amplify Damage On Striking (From Atma's Scarab amulet)
8% Chance To Cast Level 13 Twister On Striking (From Carrion Ring on your left finger)
8% Chance To Cast Level 13 Twister On Striking (From Carrion Ring on your right finger)
10% Chance To Cast Level 3 Holy Bolt On Striking (From Laying of Hands gloves)
33% Chance To Cast Level 22 Twister On Striking (From Windhammer
25% Chance To Cast level 10 Firestorm* On Striking (From your Hellfire Torch, if you can get it)
Together without Hellfire Torch, your chance for at LEAST one item to proc is ~54%
With Hellfire Torch, your chance for at least one proc is ~65%
Twisters spawning from your armor Rain will do 222-232 physical damage each and stun for 0.4 seconds.
Twisters spawning from either of your Carrion Rings will do 187-197 physical damage and stun for .04 seconds
Twisters spawning off your main proc Windhammer will do 390-415 physical damage and stun for .04 seconds.
If you decided to use Jalal's Mane you will have the following stats
Your total Crushing Blow will be 65%
Your total Open Wounds will be 10%
Your total Deadly Strike will be 15%
If you decided to use Guillaume's Face your stats would be
Your total Crushing Blow will be 100%
Your total Open Wounds will be 10%
Your total Deadly Strike will be 30%
all of these will be proccing from a 6 frame attack (4.17 attacks per second)

Rabid Proccer
This is a werewolf based proccer which deals with masses of enemies with rabies.
There are two ways to approach this build.
Route 1) Shaeled Windhammer/Ias jewel Windhammer. This will allow you to hit a 5/5/5/8 frame per attack breakpoint with your main skill, fury. The downside of this is that you need to find a way to reach 225 strength, which will reduce your overall life.
Route 2) Unshaeled Windhammer. You'll hit a 5/5/5/9 frame per attack breakpoint. The difference isn't much, and you'll be free to socket your windhammer with a hel, reducing the minimum strength needed for the build down to 180 (recommended). Other options could be a 40% ed/-15% requirement jewel, or a eth rune (reduce enemy armor which leads to more procs), or whatever the heck you want in there. The choice is yours.
Skills
If you decide to max werewolf, I recommend removing points from Oak Sage.
1 in Werewolf (Main skill.. some people might recommend maxing this for the AR bonus)
20 in Lycanthropy (Synergy)
1 in Feral Rage (Pre-req)
20 in Rabies (Main Skill)
20 in Fury (Main Skill)
20 in Oak Sage (Additional Life)
20 in Poison Creeper (Synergy)

Overview
This is hands down the fastest attacking build. At 4.46 (shaeled) or 4.31 (nonshaeled) attacks per second, you will have a screen flooded with twisters. Additionally, you have two types of damage, allowing you to deal with the majority of monsters in the game.
Strengths: Fast attacker! 4.46 attacks per second you will have procs, cb, and ow going off consistently every second. Two types of damage, allowing you to deal with physical immunes. Higher amount of life than procaurus rex. More freedom with gear than other builds.
Weaknesses: Resistances dependent on charms. Poor MFer. Lower defense than any other druid proccer. No shockwave. Less rabies damage than a pure Fury/Rabies build.
With this gear, you will have the following chances to cast on hit.
5% Chance To Cast Level 15 Twister On Striking (From your body armor Rain)
5% Chance To Cast Level 2 Amplify Damage On Striking (From Atma's Scarab amulet)

I shall try it again like this, but I will probably substitute Guillame's Face. Also thinking 20 in lycanthropy, but defintely the 20 in tornado and hurricane. Then maybe 20 in werebear and maul. Would I need 1 pt shockwave?|||Yes. Even with all the twister procs, it makes life a lot easier if a group is already stunned to start attacking. It also helps deal with those pesky ranged units.
The guide isn't finished just yet, there are still a few changes I need to put in the kodiak bear (original procaurus is 100% finished).
Hopefully I'll have the guide finished before the weekend.|||This looks pretty interesting. I like characters who are built around Chance to Cast, such as Riftkicker. I will definitely try to make one of these in the closest future. Thumbs up for this interesting guide. |||Ummm....
Ias from armor doesn't work on forms. You can cham the jalals for another carrion wind.
Cool build, I love procs in pvm. I've got a Fury Druid on Eastern Sun that procs Bone Spirit, Fade, Amp, Bone Armor, and my necro procs corpse/poison explosions when he kills enemies.|||Glad you enjoyed it Findux!
Sicyo, off weapon ias works on forms, it just has a reduced efficiency. If you want to look at the breakpoints, take a look at this site which is quintessential to making a wereform build
http://home.comcast.net/~thedragoon/...madvanced.html
Theres still one more setup I have planned out. I might even do one based around werewolf and rabies to add some mass damage.|||Ah, well I knew it didn't work for Fury but I made the improper assumption that it didn't work at all for bears either. Good to know that it does.
If you're going 2hand though, wouldn't Tomb Reaver be a better choice? Range 4, better damage, 1-2 frames faster? Sure you miss out on the twister procs but you're procing everything else more due to more hits. And doesn't Fury trigger procs more often than fire claws?
Actually now that I think of it, I wish I thought of getting an eth tomb reaver for PvM and fighting casters on my Fury Druid back when I played LoD.
I'm not trying to rag on your build or anything, I'm just thinking in terms of "best." If you want me to shut up just let me know.|||If you replace Windhammer for tomb reaver, you wouldn't truly be a proccer, you would a standard wereform build with some proc gear thrown in the mix =). While Tomb Reaver is very effective for PvM and is the standard for many wereforms builds, this one is focused on exploring the effectiveness of massing a proc.
Additionally, its only a 1 frame difference from a shaeled up Tomb Reaver and a Shaeled Windhammer, but if you use Tomb Reaver you lose out on your main twister source and 50% crushing blow.
