Here is the gear setup for the build:
eth rare great poleaxe- 40 ias, 2os, nice ed%, etc. x2 shaels
rare circ- 2 druid skills, 30 frw, 2os, half freeze, all resist, etc. x2 p rubys
rare ammy- 2 druid skills, all resist, half freeze, etc.
rare light elite armor- 2os, life, resist, etc. x2 p rubys
x2 rare rings- all resist, half freeze, ll, ml, etc.
rare belt- life, resist, etc.
rare boots- 30 frw, resist, half freeze, etc.
rare gloves- 20 ias, half freeze, resist, ll, etc.
Skill distribution:
20 fury
20 lycan
20 warewolf
20 HoW
rest grizzly
Feel free to put down your opinions about this wolf build before syngeries existed. Remember this is before all the runewords and uniques came out.|||The cost of that Druid is O_O.
Anyways, sets were around then, right? I'd say Trang belt for CBF.
That's all I have though. My knowledge of way back DII is rather limited.|||Yeah but that isn't old school, that's just a rare item druid. And some of those rares couldn't spawn before 1.10. And 20 ias gloves are pointless. Fury really hasn't changed since 1.07 in terms of what skills you use (outside of spirit bug). Nothing in the basic skill tree got synergies. As someone who played 1.08 and on, I can tell you what build would work best in each matchup if you are reverting patches. A rare gear druid might look neat, but it isn't old school.|||Quote:

But back in the older patches it was pretty much about rare. If you could tell me what else existed other than rare in patches 1.07 to lower please list gear you would choose for an old patch fury druid. I just could not think of anything else other than rares since those crazy uniques and runewords existed.|||Quote:

Show me a druid that existed before patch 1.07 or that can play classic and I will give you a million dollars.
Patch 1.07 was only live for a few days (and barely deviated from 1.08), and I have played fury in 1.08 on. Vamp gaze, storm-shield, string of ears, arkaines valor, gore riders, bloodfists, highlords wrath, life leech rings, and charms were all around in the first real live patch where druids were on the realms, and in 1.08 my druid had all of those items and used them in pvp. In fact, I still have many of these items today and I use them on my current druid (the 08 highlords, bfists, and bul kathos ring mostly, although occasionally the old gores).|||Quote:

Oh my bad I was not sure when lod first came out. I thought it was out since patch 1.06 but I guess im wrong.|||I remember the 1.08 Arkaine's Valor, very fondly. It was part of the set on my "Life" Fury Druid, which consisted of a pre-buff set in stash.
I don't remember the exact details, but I grabbed a Barb's BO and had a screenshot of something sick like 13,000+hp. Man, those were the days... back when everyone did Hell Cows still =p|||Quote:

I remember when I did cows back when I was play classic. Back at the time I was not that great at the game but its just a game. Now im knowledgeable about build on lod but I never stuck with classic for the reason that im use to lod. But yeah I remember doing norm and nm cows. As for hell cows, not many people on classic back in the days were willing to do hell cows at all. If you know somebody that was willing to do that back in the days tell me who that is please.|||By the way, it is possible to make a pretty good fury druid using mostly rare items or crafted items. There are some uniques, like stormshield, that I would not want to compromise on though unless I had to.
On my melee vs melee fury druid right now I am playing with a crafted 10 deadly strike, visionary (ar per lvl), 10 fhr, 34 life, 2 open socket armet with two 30ed/9str/9dext/7fhr jewels in it, a rare 60 ias (40 base plus shael) 283% ethereal fools berserker axe, and a 25 str, 15 dext, 48 life crafted ring. I also have a 24 fhr 30 str 58 life 10 open wounds belt that I use with certain other gear while still maintaining max damage reduced.
So, I agree that rares and crafted items can be greater than just uniques and runewords, but they are hard to find and aren't really that significantly much better.
